We’ve removed the store!

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

The big news at Bingo Shopper is that we’ve removed the shop! We listened to our players and although some found the idea of the shop interesting, most did not. We sat down at headquarters and brainstormed on what we could replace it with. All sorts of ideas were thrown around but at the end of the day one idea really stood out from the rest. A donation tab.

If you log into the game you’ll see that the store tab has been replaced with a donation tab. On this tab you’ll be able to donate your credits to a worthy cause. Once that cause reaches its target donation, Bingo Shopper will send a CASH DONATION to the cause.

At the moment, the cause is young Carter Rorabaugh. You can read more about his plight on the donation tab. If anyone has a cause that’s dear to their heart, please suggest it to us and we’ll look at adding it to our list of causes.

Problems in the game

On the positive side we’ve had a heap of new players come in and join us all in the rooms. On the not so positive side there were two days worth of problems that meant our players found it hard to play or couldn’t play at all. For that we’re sorry.

The first day’s troubles were related to changes we made to enable some new functionality in the game. We’ve managed to iron out the bugs and there shouldn’t be any issues now with the length of the call.

The second set of issues, the game freezing and not running any calls, was a system wide issue for a lot of facebook games. You may have seen news reports of Farmville and other games having similar problems. Facebook have come out and assured everyone that these issues are now resolved. Hopefully they have got it all sorted out and everyone will once again be able to water their farms, run their mafia and play their bingo into the wee small hours of the morning.
